2. Onsite Starlink Installation

Our Starlink installation team kick-off the installation process by performing the following scope of work:

• Create wall penetration(s) in the main house for the Starlink cable and the AP cable.
• Install the Starlink dish on the roof of the main house and install the AP on the roof crest above the porch.
• Create a floor penetration to bring existing Cat6 cables that run between the main house and the pump house inside the main house.
• Install a network switch in the main house and connect the Starlink router and the AP to the switch.
• Bring one of the existing pump houses Cat6 cables from the crawl space below the main house inside the main house and connect it to the switch.
• Connect cameras and other Wi-Fi devices to the AP and verify connectivity.
• Activate & Configure Starlink Gen 3 WiFi Mesh Router.
• Orient the customer on how to use the Starlink App.
• Test and document with photos

Installation Process:

Starlink Obstructions Test using the Starlink App. These tests are designed to identify the optimal location for the dish to receive a good quality and uninterrupted signal from the Starlink satellite.

After confirming the optimal location, they securely mounted the Starlink Standard actuated dish using a pivot mount. A versatile, durable mounting solution designed for optimal satellite alignment. This mount allowed the team to adjust the dish’s position precisely, ensuring an unobstructed sky view for consistent and reliable connectivity. Its sturdy design provides a secure attachment to the structure and can withstand various weather conditions, such as strong winds, heavy snow, and rain.

Then, the team carefully made a floor penetration to bring existing Cat6 cables that run between the main house and the pump house inside the main house. Bring one of the existing pump house Cat6 cables from the crawl space below the main house inside the main house and connect it to the switch.

In addition, the installation team improved the functionality and connectivity of the Starlink system by installing a network switch in the main house. A network switch connects several network devices to allow easy communication between them.

The Gen3 WiFi Mesh Router was connected to a network switch to serve as the primary internet source, distributing the high-speed satellite connection throughout the system. An Access Point was also connected to the switch, extending the WiFi coverage to any other room outside the house and the outdoor space. Thus, a good internet signal was assured all over the place.

Our team configured and tested the connections to ensure that the switch, router, and access point worked harmoniously to provide a solid and easily expandable network solution for the customer.

3. Starlink Optimization and Performance Testing

Our team performed the Starlink alignment test to confirm that the dish was precisely positioned for optimal connectivity. Then the Starlink speed test is performed 20 minutes after the setup to assess the internet connection’s overall quality. Starlink usually requires up to 12 hours to synchronize with its satellite network.

The Starlink speed test was evaluated through key metrics such as download speed, upload speed, ping and jitter. The results indicate that the Starlink connection performs well, particularly for general internet use, streaming, and gaming.
