Starlink Installation Planning and Assessment
Our Starlink installation SMEs received a service request from a homeowner in Bountiful, UT for professional installation of Starlink satellite internet. Our team conducted an Initial Offsite Assessment to determine the structural property of the home. This involves analyzing satellite imagery, requesting onsite photos and evaluating the roof type and potential obstructions. This critical evaluation allowed us to determine the necessary materials, equipment, suitable mount and manpower to ensure a hassle-free Starlink installation.

Onsite Starlink Installation
Our Starlink installation team arrived onsite to perform the following scope of work:
- Install Starlink Standard dish using an adjustable wall mount at the rear of the property.
- Route and secure cabling from the dish. Perform cable passthrough from the exterior wall into the adjacent room next to the second-floor office.
- Install and configure the Starlink router in the second-floor office.
- Provide customer walkthrough to the Starlink App
To begin the installation, we performed a Starlink Obstructions Test using the Starlink App. This the first step to determine the best installation point for the dish to achieve a strong and stable connection to the Starlink satellite signal. The test returned a “Good Experience” rating, confirming that the chosen spot was optimal location.
Our team securely installed the Starlink dish using an adjustable wall mount, carefully positioning it to achieve a clear, unobstructed view of the sky for optimal satellite reception. The mount was firmly anchored to the exterior wall, ensuring long-term stability and performance even in varying weather conditions.
They neatly routed the proprietary Starlink cable from the outdoor dish to the indoor Gen 3 WiFi mesh router, placing it on the second-floor office room.
Using the Starlink App, we configured the customer’s preferred network name (SSID) and secure password to personalize their Wi-Fi setup according to their preferences. This process involved accessing the Starlink router settings, entering a unique and easily recognizable network name, and setting a strong password for secure access. We then verified the changes by reconnecting devices to the new network and testing signal strength throughout the home.
Starlink Performance Testing
Once the installation of the Starlink equipment is complete, we conducted the Starlink alignment Test to verify that the dish was correctly positioned for clear line of sight satellite connectivity.
Then, we checked the system’s internet performance by running the Starlink Speed test. The results achieved a download speed of 294.18 Mbps, an upload speed of 23.64 Mbps and a latency of 23 milliseconds.
This is excellent Starlink performance can handle multiple devices streaming HD/4K content, video conferencing, and gaming simultaneously without issues. It is important to note that Starlink may take as long as 12 hours to synchronize with the satellite network completely.
